Meet Smart Moments: cut every call down to the moments that really matter

At minute 41 of a discovery call last month, a prospect told one of our reps who actually signs the contract. Not the person on the call. Her boss's boss, who had a vendor she already liked.

The rep didn't catch it. The manager never got that far into the recording. The deal died in procurement three weeks later, and the post-mortem concluded that "we didn't multi-thread early enough." Which was true. The prospect had told us that, in so many words, on a call we recorded and never watched.

That's not a coaching failure or a discipline failure. It's a format failure. The most useful thing a prospect says on a call is a sentence, and we store it inside an hour.

So we're launching Smart Moments in private preview. Hyperbound finds the moments in every recorded call where the prospect said something that matters to the deal, clips them, and gets them to the people who need them.

The unit is the moment, not the call

Every call recording tool treats the call as the thing. You get a library of recordings, a summary on top of each, and a search bar. The summary tells you the call happened and roughly what it covered. The search bar works if you already know what you're looking for and what words the prospect used. Neither gets you to minute 41 unless you sit through minutes 1 through 40.

Smart Moments changes the unit. Hyperbound listens to every recorded call and pulls out the moments where the prospect said something that matters to the deal, as clips, each with enough of the surrounding conversation to stand on its own. A sixty-minute call becomes fifteen or twenty moments. A hundred calls becomes a few hundred moments. The recording is still there, untouched. You just stop needing it.

What counts as a moment is deal intelligence, not highlights. Hyperbound ships with ten categories:

  • Trigger. The event that prompted the prospect to act
  • Pain. The problem they face
  • Goal. What they want to achieve
  • Business Case. Why the problem has to be solved
  • Objection. Anything that could stall the deal
  • Stakeholder. Who needs to be involved
  • Competitor. An external vendor, an internal build, or the status quo
  • Buying Process. What has to happen for the deal to close
  • Praise. What they like about the solution
  • Technology. Tools already in their stack

Minute 41 is a Stakeholder moment. It would have been in the grid before the rep closed her laptop.

If your methodology uses categories we don't ship, tell Kota. "Create a Smart Moment whenever a prospect mentions a security review." Kota reads your organization's context and starts finding those too, so the taxonomy is yours rather than a generic one you have to map onto.

‍

What compounds

One moment on one call is convenient. The same category across every call the team has recorded is something you couldn't have before.

Hyperbound organizes Smart Moments into playlists automatically across every rep, team, and call. Questions that used to cost a week of listening have an answer sitting in a playlist:

  • Which competitor came up most this quarter, and what did prospects say about them? That's the Competitor playlist.
  • How does each rep on the team handle the pricing objection, side by side? The Objection playlist.
  • What words do prospects use to describe the problem, in their own voice, before we've pitched anything? The Pain playlist.
  • What did the buying process look like on the last five deals that closed? The Buying Process playlist.

Every one of those is a playlist that already exists, built from moments, growing with every call. Nobody tagged a recording to make it happen.

When the question is one we didn't anticipate, ask Kota. "Every time we came up against Gong this quarter and how the rep handled it." "Examples of reps uncovering budget during discovery." Kota finds the moments and returns clips, not a list of calls.

How this is different from a call library

Every conversation intelligence tool records calls. Most of them clip calls. The difference is where the work sits.

You don't have to know where the moment is. A traditional call library asks you to watch the recording or make the clip yourself. That means you already know the moment exists and roughly when it happened. Smart Moments finds it from what the prospect said. Full call, AI understanding, moment. The finding is the product.

The clips are deal intelligence, not highlights. A highlight reel tells you a call had interesting parts. A Smart Moment tells you what kind of part: a trigger, a pain, a stakeholder, a competitor, a step in the buying process. That structure is what makes a hundred calls searchable and comparable instead of a hundred files with timestamps.

The playlists exist without a curator. Nobody listens, identifies, clips, tags, and files. Calls become moments, moments become playlists, playlists become what the team learns from. The library builds itself and gets more valuable with every call recorded.

The value compounds. A recording is useful once, when someone watches it. A hundred calls in a library are a hundred recordings. A hundred calls in Hyperbound are a few hundred moments, organized, and every one of them stays useful after the deal closes.

Evidence that arrives

None of this waits for someone to go looking.

Kota delivers moments to Slack, Teams, or email as the clip, not as a summary with a timestamp. A competitor shows up on a call and the manager has the moment before the day is out. Three new pricing objections land in a week and the team lead gets the playlist. The rep who missed minute 41 would have had it in her Slack that afternoon, from her own call, with the prospect saying it.

That's what changes. Not that calls are recorded; they always were. That what the prospect said stops being buried in them.

Getting started

Smart Moments is in private preview for customers with call recording connected. If that's you, ask your account manager for access and it starts on your next recorded call.
